12/25/2023 Christmas Day Festival

CHRISTMAS DAY

God sent his Son to make us sons of God (Second Reading). The importance of the truths proclaimed today cannot be overstated. This is not the trite and trivial Christmas celebration our society observes. Our Gospel brings us from creation’s majesty to humble human flesh. Micah honors Bethlehem Ephrathah for the peace the eternal God brings through the birth that happens there (First Reading). The unseeable God is seen in the manger. God became our human brother.

Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King;let ev’ry heart prepare him room and heav’n and nature sing, and heav’n and nature sing, and heav’n, and heav’n and nature sing. (353:1)

God bless your Christmas Day worship!
